September 2013 - the big weekend
UPDATE I am embarrassed to admit that I forgot this Sunday is the Portsmouth triathlon, which means the seafront may well be inaccessible on Sunday. It's too late to move the event, so instead I'm going to have to do two. So it's now Saturday 10-12 and Sunday 10-12. Saturday is going to be the better day though because of the road closure.
Mid-September is the Marine Conservation Society's annual Beachwatch event, when volunteers across the country will be cleaning the nation's beaches. Our small contribution will be to clean the stretch near the Pyramids.
This clean will differ from the normal pattern in that we have to note what we find. This information is then collated nationally by the MCS. Note that this year it is on the Sunday and not the Saturday.
Sunday 22nd September, 10am - 12pm
location - between the Pyramids and South Parade Pier
starting point : by Rocksby's Cafe on the Esplanade (PO5 3PG)
